LIT - Ages 14-16
Camp Eden Woods offers a four-week Leaders in Training (LIT) program for our older campers.
As members of the Ontario Camps Association (OCA) we have the tools and standards to train our LITs to become more effective leaders in a camp setting. Our LIT program emphasizes in activity and general leadership skill development while promoting an experience that our campers will remember for the rest of their lives.
LIT 1 & 2- Leader in Training - 14-16 year olds
The LIT program is split into 2 years of traditional camp fun, and a progressional growth and development into camp leaders.
LIT 1's (14 - 15 yrs) will enjoy our famous Algonquin Challenge, a 3-day all action canoe adventure across the stunning Algonquin Park! Certification in Bronze Med and Bronze Cross, Whitewater Rafting Level 1, later curfew and private Evening Programs, Running the Tuck Shop, Shadowing Counsellors and Specialists, and helping to plan theme days and special events.
LIT 2's (15 - 16 yrs) will finalise their NLS training and get certified to be lifeguards. They will enjoy a new Camping trip in Algonquin Park with extended tripping challenges. They will try Whitewater Rafting Level 2, participate in a Camp Buddy program, enjoy their own evening programs, spend time shadowing counsellors and specialists and get evaluated on their success, assist in many special events and theme days, and work on a Legacy Project at camp. They will gain skills in all areas of camp and get trained on leading all specialties.

All LIT participants will take part in a 3 day canoe trip in Algonquin Park. On this trip, they will learn tripping skills while creating a strong group bond
