In these times when the Summer of 2020 is in question, we are all faced with what camp means to all of us – How important camp is to our kids. This thought has allowed us to realize how privileged we are to have created a place so important for so many people, including our own children. We are not just the owners of Camp Eden Woods, our kids love camp and it is an important part of their lives. Through them we can feel how right now, it is more important than ever for children to have camp to look forward to this summer.
At Camp Eden Woods, we have created the perfect environment for campers to practice what is already in our human nature; the love for the outdoors, friendship, kindness, and generosity. Things that are not practiced enough in our regular lives.
This poses an important question for all parents and children who are currently enduring a complicated time of challenges and uncertainties, wether they are emotional, social or financial.
Is camp only for privileged kids? Should less kids be able to go to camp? Will that make our community a better place? We don’t think so!
With this thought we are introduced to an old concept brought to the world from India; Daana, pay-what-you-can, or what you believe to be the value. We think that this new model of flexible payment has the power to lift some of the barriers that this global situation is creating. At the same time, the use of Daana is the practice of generosity for the giver and the receiver, allowing both to feel the rewarding sense of kindness, giving and mutual trust
We know this concept is radical in the world we have all been living in, but the outcome has the potential of being remarkably rewarding. We believe that exposing the campers to these concepts will inspire them for the rest of their lives. Our camp family is at its first stage of growing and its within us to decide what kind of camp we want to be. What makes our camp special and unique is our campers and their families. We hope our camp continues to grow in the direction that we are taking it to, so in the future we can all be proud of what we have created. And you can be proud of creating it with us.
Summary. New Payment Methods
- Da'ana; pay your desired value.
- Flexible payment plans available upon request.
- The camp will not be accepting deposits or payments until camp is confirmed for 2020.
- Invite friends who you think might find this useful or can benefit from this.
We encourage that you stay tuned to our social media channels. As we have been doing during the previous weeks, we will keep working on some virtual camp programs for families to enjoy from home, including an elaborate virtual escape room.
